Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid-based fillers and have one of the best safety profiles of any injectable treatment, due to their biodegradable nature. They are minimally invasive and safe, if done by an experienced medical professional. A topical local anaesthetic can be used in the area to be treated before the procedure, and any needles used during the treatment are very small in size. Dermal fillers can last anywhere between three to 18 months. This will depend on the type of filler injected, the amount of filler used, the area of the face being treated and how active it is. It is also affected by how quickly your body naturally breaks down the filler, which will vary from person to person.
